Fall Leaf Nails

I got my Bundle Monster holiday stamping plates in the mail last week and I love them. They have everything. They have te big holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and Thanksgiving but they also have smaller holidays like Chinese New Year and Cinco De mayo. Everything I've tried stamps great.

While I was working on my decal for my fall nails I decided to play around with my snowflake.

The plate comes with a couple different snowflakes plus a full nail snowflake design. Since I was already using the big end of my stamper I just picked my favorite snowflake and stamped it all over. I love this. Can't wait until after Thanksgiving so I ant cut ally keep them on.

My decal turned out great. I love how nice this looks and it's pretty easy to do, jut a bit time consuming.

I've seen these a few diferetmbt places but since I showed one I will do a quick photo tutorial of the decal steps.

First pick your image and stamp it.

Use a fine nail art brush to fill in with color directly onto the stamper and let dry fully.

Cover entire design with a coat of fast dry topcoat and let dry fully.

Carefully peel off with tweezers, flip, and apply to nail. You want te park that faced down on te stamper to face up on the nail so your outlines show.

I'm really excited for all these holidays to come around so I can try out all my designs. I have some really nice ones for Saint Pattys Day.

I ordered my set from amazon for like $22 and I think free shipping. : )

Finger Paints/China Glaze/Spoiled

Finger Paints Sparkle in the Sky. I bought this one the last time I stopped into Sally's. I think it is supposed to be a texture but it isn't marked as a texture so I'm not sure. It does look/feel like one though. The photo shows it with topcot and you can still see it's pretty bumpy.

The photo doesn't show the color very well though. It's a darker blue base with micro glitters that flash purple and greenish.

Spoiled Did I Dye It Too Blonde? Top two fingers show two coats over two cots of white. Bottom two fingers show three coats with no undies. In person it is more of a hi lighter yellow, especially in the bottle. I like this one a lot more than I thought I would. Especially with the white underneath.

China Glaze It's a Trap-Eze! I love this polish so much. Before when I've used this one I've done it without undies. This time I put one coat of white underneath and I like it even more. Putting the coat of white underneath makes it easier I put on because you can focus more on getting the glitter to spread then worrying about bald patches in the base.

There is a close up. Seriously can not express how much I love this polish. I need I pick up an extra bottle so I don't run out. So pretty.

China Glaze Kiwi Cool-Ada. I ordered this one last week from Anazon. It is a bright neon green. Photo shows two coats. This is not quite the green I was expecting when I ordered. The photo did not show the color very well but I do like it.

Essie Toppless & Barefoot. Nude polish. I never really though I would use this one for anything other than nail art but I actually really like this.

Sally Hansen Wine Not. I won this polish in a giveaway. I would not have purchased this one myself because this is not a brand I would have normally bought but I love it! I will be buying more from this one. I like these much better than other types of Sally Hansen that I've bought before. The only bad thing is the brush. I like that it is one of the wide flat brushes and I can do most of my nails with two strokes but the bristles are uneven so I had I be really careful about how I had my brush sitting when I put it to my nails. But the polish itself was great.

China Glaze Strawberry Fields. I love this polish. It is so pretty. It's a really nice pink. And on top of the great color there is micro fine gold glitter that gives it a great shimmer. I love it.

I've been doing a bunch of posts for Instagram and I'm kind of playing catch up here. I still have a bunch of other posts to put up here but I don't want to post them all at once. If you want to check out my stuf on Instagram  You can find it at @hannahsnails11

China Glaze from Sally's Sale

I got my first texture polish last week and tried it out. When I first saw these I really didn't think I would like them at all. I thought the texture woul annoy me. Then I saw a swatch me There's Snow One Like You from China Glaze. The review wasn't the best but Sally's was having a buy 2 China Glaze get 1 free sale so I decided to pick it up because I thought it was so pretty.

It is a pain to work with at first. But once you figure it out it isn't bad. I love it. You do have to wok with it but that doesn't really bother me. I haven't tried any other textures though so I'm not sure how those are to work with. I do plan to get more now though.

China Glaze Frostbite. I love this polish also. Super pretty blue.

It also matches my sapphire ring perfectly.

China Glaze Ravishing, Dahling. This is a really nice red. I like this one a lot too.

Over all, I had a very successful trip to Sally's. I was very happy with all 3 China Glaze polishes that I picked up.

Phantom of the Opera

For week 3 of the November nail art contest our prompt is Favorite Movie. I chose Phantom of the Opera.

I was in band in high school and we did a Phantom show and I also got to see it performed live in New York City. It was fantastic!

I did the mask and rose on my ring finger and I chose the other colors for the Masqurade scene. That scene is one of my favorites. I love the colors and the music, it's just great.

There is a slightly fuzzy close up of the ring finger. I'm very pleased with these nails. They turned out even better than I'd hoped!!

Gold Glitter

Gold glitter over black.

I used two different glitters. The fine glitter is Pure Ice Bare It All and the bigger pieces are Wet N Wild Fergie Glamorous. The black is Finger Paints Black Expressionism.

This one was really simple. I just used a nail art brush and pulled the glitter up from the tips. I might re do something like this for my hubby's work Christmas party next month. : )

Striping Tape

I did my first striping tape mani the other day. I ordered 30 rolls from Amazon about a month ago and finally got them in the mail. I'm pretty happy with these.

Some of the lines aren't straight and the polish smeared on a couple but I'm still really happy with them.

My bottom coat is a sponged on red/orange/yellow fade and I put Essie's Little Brown Dress over top. Really love the colors.

Cling Wrap Nails

I first tried out the cling wrap nails when I did my Thomas the Train nails. I love how they turned out. So, I decided to try it out with some different colors.

I love how these turn out. They are so easy and so pretty.

They look like marble. I really love the purple, pink, and blue. It's kind of hard to see on the yellow and orange and the pictures just make it worse.

Fan Brush Fall Colors

When I think of Fall, my first thought is normally of the changing leaves. Red, yellow, and orange especially.

I used a fine nail art brush to paint on the tree and then tore tiny pieces off of a make up sponge and I sponged on the red, orange, and yellow.

I used a fan brush to drag the colors on the rest of the nails. The thumb has all three colors.

I topped them all off with a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Thomas the Train

For this week of the November nail art contest the prompt was favorite childrens book. I don't really have a favorite but my two year old loves Thomas the Train.

I am terrible at faces. That is really the only thing I'm unhappy with here.

I used a fine nail art brush and dotting tools to do the train. For the background I painted 2 coats of the lighter blue then used the cling wrap technique to do the darker blue on top.

There's a close up of what the cling wrap does. I love this. So pretty.

My son loved these. He kept grabbing my hand yelling "choo choo".

Fall Leaf

I did a really quick fall mani today. It didn't come out great but I do like it. I used the cling wrap technique on all my nails except for the pointer. (If I were to do this again, I'd put it on all nails and use a different brown)

For the leaf nail I just used 2 coats of my base polish (Sinful Colors Cloud 9) and used a punch and tape to make a stencil.   I stuck the tape to my nail and painted in the space with Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby. Then carefully peeled off the tape. (Really have to make sure base color is totally dry before putting the tape on.) Then I made a few spots around it with China Glaze Lemon Fizz.

The brown I used was Sinful Colors Nirvana. I think if I were to repeat this mani, I would use something like Essie Little Brown Dress.

Little Mermaid

I just joined in on a nail art contest by @cdbnails on Instagram yesterday. The first post is due tomorrow. There are 4 prompts and they are due each Wednesday through November.

The first prompt is Favorite Disney movie.

Starting at the thumb and working to the pinky I have Ursula, a trident, the singing frogs from the boat scene, Ariel's fork hairbrush, and the shells and top of fin.

I ended up re doing two of the nails. I was finished and decided I hated them and I wanted to try to do it a bit different.

The first one I changed was Ursula's legs. I really wanted to show the underside of some of them but it really just didn't work out very well. It looks so much better in the second one. I love this one so much I might end up doing a whole mani with this like a print. : )

The second nail I redid was Ariel's fork hairbrush. It looked really bad in the first one. The first thing I decided was to put it over a background color rather than just my nail. White helped it show up better but I really had to layer on the red. I also got the tines on the fork looking better even though I still only got three in three. (Sorry, Sheldon)

Over all this is my least favorite nail but it still looks much better than the first try. I am improving little by little. : )

This is the first time I have tried doing anything for Disney and while I enjoyed it I was also a bit intimidated because there are SO many Disney manis floating around. I really wanted to try to do something that I haven't seen loads of already. I love the manis where they do a simplified version of each character but I really didn't want to redo someone else's mani so that is why I tried the frogs and the fork.

I am really enjoying working on the challenges and now contest. It pushes me to try stuff I probably wouldn't have tried otherwise!

Please comment and tell me what you think!!!

Turkey

Since Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away I wanted to try out Some fall/turkey nail art. I chose colors that I think of when I think of fall. Reds, yellows, and oranges especially.

I used China Glaze White on White and Lemon Fizz, Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby and Cloud 9, Finger Paints Sketch N Etch, Sally Hansen Black Heart, and Essie Little Brown Dress.

The turkey was done free hand with a fine nail art brush.

By the way, please excuse my terrible looking thumb nail, I broke it off a couple days ago. :, (

Close up of the turkey. I might try these again for Thanksgiving day. I really think my little turkey turned out well.

China Glaze Holiday

I picked up two of the new China Glaze polishes last week and I love them both. The two I got are both glitters.

Bells Will Be Blinging is a clear base with blue and silver glitter along with small holo bar glitter. I have one coat layered over two coats if China Glaze White on White.

Those were indoors under a lamp.

These were outside in sunlight.

I had a hard time getting the holo glitter but it is really pretty in person. I had no trouble getting the glitter to spread. It went on really easy.

The other polish I got is Your Preasents Required. This polish has all kinds of colors and sizes of glitter in a clear base. I'm sure I'm not getting them all but some of the colors are green, purple, blue, white, gold, and silver. For my photos I layered it over three coats of Essie Turquoise and Caicos.

I really like this polish. So pretty. Again, it was really easy to get to spread. I had no problems getting plenty of glitter on each nail. There are some large white hex glitter in there but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of them so for me I think I only got 1 or maybe 2 total for all 10 nails. But that's fine with me.

I will probably be picking up a couple others from this collection soon. I found quite a few that I really like.
