OPI Glitter Off Base Coat

I am FINALLY getting around to writing up my review for the OPI Glitter Off Base Coat. I've used this so much it's ridiculous. I wanted to test it will several different types of polish.

I ordered my bottle off Amazon and I think it was less than $11 including shipping.

This is how it looks as it dries. Pinky and ring finger are almost totally dry the middle and pointer still have spots that are wet and the thumb is freshly painted on. It takes about 10 minutes to dry.

The first polish test was a jelly polish with glitter. I used Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces for this test.

This came off in tiny pieces. It was easier than usual to remove put still a huge pain. This was only 1 coat of OPI Glitter Off.

I repeated the jelly test with 2 coats of Glitter Off and it worked MUCH better.

The next one is a crelly polish with glitter. I used Picture Polish Frosting.

I used 2 coats of OPI Glitter Off for this test and it came off super easy. All in one sheet.

I also tested all glitter in a clear base. This is 3-4 coats of China Glaze Snow Globe.

Great removal again with 2 coats of Glitter Off.

I also tried out a cream polish with a glitter topper. I used Sinful Colors Pistache for the cream base polish and Wicked Polish Arson as the Glitter topper.

Still awesome removal with 2 coats Glitter Off.

I LOVE this stuff. It makes removal about 10 billion times easier. I will be buying 2 or 3 more bottles just to have a stock of them. I hated soaking my nails with cotton balls and acetone because acetone is so bad for your nails anyway. I don't mind using it to wipe polish off but letting it sit on my nails and cuticles can't be good for them. The Glitter Off caused NO damage to my nails at all. I didn't have to scrape or poke to get it off. I just lifted the edge up with a cuticle pusher or even a fingernail and slowly lift it off.

I didn't really have issues like some people did where whole nails would just pop off while they were doing normal things around the house. I did have one that started to pop off and then while I was messing with it I popped it almost totally off but the base is a tiny bit sticky so I was able to just press it back on and then it lasted until I got home to remove and change my polish.

I did not do any long tests with this. Part of the point of this -for me- was that I wouldn't dread the removal so much that I'd leave the polish on for 4 or 5 days like I have before. All because I didn't want to have to deal with the removal. Using the Glitter Off, I could change my glitter every day because removal wasn't a huge pain anymore. SO most of my tests only had the polish on for about 24 hours.

My first Picture Polish

I found Picture Polish Frosting on a nail polish sales group on Facebook and picked it up. I has really been wanting to try out their polishes for a long time and I LOVED Frosting.

I got the polish in and the first thing I noticed was that there were heart glitters that I hadn't noticed in the swatches I'd seen online. I don't know how I missed them, but I did.

*Note: These polishes are not the normal 15ML bottles. They are 11ML. That doesn't seem like much of a difference but they really are quite a bit smaller. I didn't know that when I bought.

This really is a very pretty polish but OMG. It was a HUGE pain in the butt to apply. I fought with this polish for ever before I finally decided to go ahead and try some polish thinner to see if that helped.

There are SO many heart glitters in this polish that it makes it hard to apply and when I started my polish was also very thick and gloopy. Most indie polishes have a few of the largest glitters. Enough that if you look for them you can have one on each nail and that's fine. This polish had so many that you couldn't not get them. I have several nails that are just big piles of hearts because I could not get away form them and they all just dropped and piled up and I couldn't get them to spread.

After I added the thinner it got a little better but I still had a lot of the hearts coming out and that still made it difficult to apply. I'll end up trying this polish again soon and see if it works better next time but this go round, I was not overly happy with it. It's still pretty but it's just a huge fight to put on.

I think this may be the first time ever I have complained about too much glitter in a polish. Normally, I love it. I think if the hearts had been 1/2 the amount or even 1/4 it would have been much prefect. I really hope that some of the other polishes are not the same way because I'd really like to try a few others from this brand.

This is the 3rd polish that I am testing for my OPI Glitter Off base Coat so you will be seeing this one again and I should have that review up by Friday. (probably sooner)

Green on Green

These last couple weeks have been crazy. First we made a last minute trip to Indiana (12 hour drive with a toddler : / ) and then drove home less than 48 hours later. Then, just a couple days after getting home, I ended up sick for 2 days and then my 2.5 year old got sick. Its been a mess. Up every night several times with him. Crazy on and off fever. On top of that, his doctor game us meds to help him and the antibiotic that is supposed to help with the fever made him sick the first time he took it. It's been rough.
I went at least 2 weeks with the same horribly chipped mani and when I finally removed it, my nails were awful. Broken and peeling. So I just filed them down and put Growth Spurt on and that's all lI had on for a few days. I finally did my nails again a couple days ago.

This is what I did. Just some simple stamping. This is Sinful Colors Envy stamped over Pistache. I used Moyou London Fairytale plate 06. I love stamping. It's simple but looks really nice.  And since I really did not have the patience to do anything too crazy, it was perfect.

I finally found OPI's new litter Off base coat. I had to order it online. I called and asked at all of my local stores that carry OPI and none of them have it yet. Amazon didn't have it for quite a while. They finally got it a few days ago and I ordered it. I'm hoping to get it in some time early next week. it shipped yesterday morning and normally I get stuff pretty quickly so I'm hoping by Tuesday or Wednesday.  I haven't even got it in yet and I don't want to use litter polishes because I can't stand the thought of the removal. I'm really going to be upset if this stuff isn't good. lol. I will have a review up as soon as I can after getting it. I want to try a few different polishes and see how well it does with all of them before I post.

Glitter OVERLOAD!!!!!

I have been so busy the last few days I have not had time to post. I finally painted my nails today after like a week of nothing. My nails were a mess.

I have a few Pop Culture Cosmetics polishes to post. They're gorgeous. Every single on of her polishes are so pretty. And they're awesome. They last forever and are just fantastic. I can not possibly say enough good things about them.

The lady who runs Pop Culture Cosmetics is also awesome. My last order was missing a polish and without question when I e mailed her she apologized (which was not at all necessary, mistakes happen) and promised to get a bottle sent out ASAP. I got it just a few days later.

This is Prince Charming. I ordered this polish because I didn't have anything like it and thought it might be pretty. I am SO glad I ordered this polish. It is so pretty. There are so many sparkles in this polish. All kinds of different small glitters along with some larger diamond glitters. Purple, pink, and holo. The base is a light shimmery purple. It is just so pretty. Every time I looked at my hands, I loved this polish a little more. It's so pretty.

Just in case it wasn't pretty enough in my house under a light, here it is in the sun. It is SO sparkly. I love this polish so much.

This is Blushing Castle. Its a purple jelly base with all kinds of glitters in it. I'm not sure I could possibly tell all the glitters in this polish. It's packed.

Here it is in the sun. Again, lots of sparkles. Its very, very pretty.

I added some two-tone flower nail art. I followed the tutorial by @glittr on instagram. I really love this. Simple but so pretty and perfect for spring.

I Lost My Glass Slipper is a baby blue base with white and blue glitters plus hearts. I am alos in love with this polish.

Here it is in the sun. : D

This is I Lost My Glass Slipper with some ocean stamping using my MoYou London Sailor 08 plate.
I like this but I fell like I could have done a bit better with the stamping. Still very pretty and I love I Lost My Glass Slipper as a base for ocean stamping.

The last polish is MousketEAR. I layered it over China Glaze Frostbite. MousketEAR is a clear base LOADED with glitter. Tiny holo is a lot of it and then there are medium sized circle glitters in red, black, white, holo, and yellow. Then there are also star and Mickey shaped glitters.

I tried to get a picture of this in the sun and I was nearly blinded by those holo Mickeys so I gave up. I love it though. And that blue is perfect as a base. So fun. When I go to Disney (hopefully this time next year) I have got to make sure this polish is worn at some point during the trip!

Wicked

I was planning on having almost all of my Wicked polishes tried out by now. I've tried 3. It's been a busy week. My 2.5 year old started soccer practices and had his first game and with everything going on I have just not felt like doing my nails. They were a mess today when I finally took off the last polish I tried out. They looked terrible. The ends all chipped and uneven and peeling. 0_o Bad. Really bad. They're fixed up some now but I can't let that happen again.

The first one I tried was Hallucinating Gremlins. Hallucinating Gremlins is a glitter topper that has bunches of glitter in it. There are purple, blue, green, and black in different shapes including squares, stars, and bars. I put it over a pale pink. Really loved these two together.

Drunk In Public is a white base loaded with tiny glitters in rainbow colors. I loved this polish. I did 3 coats, no undies. Probably would have been fine with 2 coats or maybe even 1 coat with a white coat underneath but I wanted LOTS of glitter! Very pretty polish.

The last one that I've had a chance to try out is Pox. Pox is a white base with different sized pink and orange glitters. I put it over a bright pink polish. So mine looks like a light pink base. I will probably have to try this polish a few different ways. I liked it like this but didn't love it. I just wanted to try something different than just plain white underneath but maybe I'll have to try that.

These Pop Culture Cosmetics polishes came in today. I finally got full sized bottles of 3 Wishes and Snow Queen plus three new ones. I have one extra coming next week that accidentally got left out of this order. I e-mailed after I realized my order was short and she got right back to me saying sorry and that she would have my missing bottle sent out early next week. I love Pop Culture Cosmetics. I've tried more well known indie brands (that I also love) but I think Pop Culture is my favorite. I've never got a polish I liked photos of but didn't like once I got it. I have had the opposite though. See a polish that a liked and decided for some reason or other to go ahead and order and then just LOVED it. I am wearing one of these polishes now and as soon as I get the 2 other new ones tried out I will have swatches posted. I have another order coming next week (I think I might have a bit of a problem but her polishes are seriously so pretty) so I will have quite a few Pop Culture polishes coming up. I will get back to my Wicked Polish swatches soon. : )

Wicked Polish Order

On February 2nd Wicked Polish did a restock and I made sure I had extra money to order. I knew I was going to go a bit crazy. I LOVE Wicked Polish and had been wanting to get a few bottles for AGES but I'd never seen the store stocked and couldn't find them stocked anywhere else either. I ended up buying 10 bottles. There were only 2 I missed. One was sold out already (less than 45 minutes after the restock went live) and the other I skipped because I decided the 10 bottles was already enough of a hit on my bank account.

My order was so big that they had to get a bigger box to send mine out. So it took a bit longer to get to me. I waited very patiently, at least, I tried to. But I finally got them in on Saturday the 22nd.

They were each bubble wrapped in a bubble packet.

All 10 bottles arrived safely.

Drunk In Public- Hematoma - Fairy Blood Spatter

Hallucinating Gremlins - Arson - Expired Pixie Dust

Mangled Mermaid - Stabbed By A Unicorn

Pox - Hung Over The Rainbow

So far I have tried 2 of them and I will have photos up as soon as I try a couple more. I can't just swatch these and remove them. So far both I've tried have been awesome and I have to wear them at least a day before I remove it otherwise I feel like I'm just wasting the polish. I'll probably do them in 2 posts. Polishes for each but I'm not sure yet. If it gets to Friday and I still only have 3 or 4 used I'll probably go ahead and post those then.

So excited to try the rest of these out. So many super pretty polishes.

Sea Goddess

I picked up the entire China Glaze Sea Goddess collection about 2 weeks ago. I was so excited for this set to come out. As soon as I started seeing swatches for these polishes, I knew I wanted all of them. I was not disappointed. I'm not sure how but I did save $1 off each bottle. I bought them at Sally's with my Sally's card so I'm not sure if that's why I saved or if there was a sale that I missed. Either way I'm not complaining. I ended up getting the whole set for less than $35.

These are TEXTURED polishes which means that they will dry bumpy. They have sand in them to give them this texture and it's totally normal. I was told by the girl at Sally's that they dried funny and I would need a really good top coat. SO obviously not everyone knows that they are supposed to be a bit different than a normal polish.

The first one I tried out is Sand Dolla Make You Holla which is a white base with multicolored glitters. I love this polish. So pretty and kind of makes me think of sand. I live in Florida so our beaches are super white with little specks in it; normally black but this looks about the same just with colorful specks instead of black ones. Also, sorry about the ring finger nail. I broke it and tried fixing it and didn't notice that it popped back out until later. : /

There are two pinks in the collection and this is the darker of the two, Shell We Dance?  Shell We Dance? is a darker pink with very sparkly pink glitter and it's a very pretty color.

This is Tail Me Something. This purple is VERY sparkly. I swear this one had like, quadruple the glitter of the rest of them. So glittery.

Teal The Tide Turns is a light/medium blue with darker blue glitters. I really liked this color. It's quite a bit different from the other colored polishes from this collection because the glitters stand out  a bit more. All the rest (other than Sand Dolla Make You Holla) have glitters that are much closer to the same color as the base.

Wish on a Starfish is a lighter pink with a peachy shimmer. This is one of my favorites. The shimmer makes this color so pretty.

The last polish is Seahorsin' Around. This polish is my favorite form this collection. Sadly, I could not get a good picture of this. I'm not sure why but my camera just could not capture it. The color is a blue but has a green shift to it. This color would seriously be the perfect color for the base on mermaid nail art. It just looks perfect for fish scale type stuff. So, so, so pretty.

I'm still pretty new to textures but I'm really loving them. When they first came out I really thought I would hate them. But When I saw the first swatches for Snowbody Like You from the Christmas collection I knew I had to try it, especially when I started reading the bad reviews on it. lol I'm not sure why but that made me want to try it even more. I loved that polish. Textures can be a bit difficult to work with but you get used to it pretty quickly.

Color Club Cloud Nine

I finally ordered my first ever holo polish. I am in love. It is so pretty. I HAVE to find some more.

This is Color Club Cloud Nine. The color in the bottle is a light purple but once you see it in the light you can see every color in the rainbow. I tried my best to capture this polish with my camera and it did ok. The bottle really shows the colors. I could not stop looking at my nails the first day I had this on. So pretty.

This polish also stamps great. This shows it stamped over black. The stamp pattern is from Moyou London Sailor 07 plate. I had no trouble at all stamping.

This is one of my favorite polishes right now. I really have to try stamping over some other colors with it. I will be buying more holos very soon. I think I'll probably try some Mentality Holos sometime in the next few weeks.

With the last restock of Wicked Polish I order 10 polishes that should be coming in sometime this week. I also ordered 6 bottles from Pop Culture Cosmetics that should come in next week or early the week after. I will be working on swatches of these when I get them and will have those posted. I am really excited to play with all my new pretties. : )

Nails! Nails! Nails!

This is going to be another combined post with a few random manis I've done. They all just have one photo so I don't want to do super short posts for each one.

I joined Ipsy in December and this came in my first bag. The brand is Nicka K New York and came with no name. (which makes me crazy) Its a nice color. I really didn't think I would like this one. I got loads of compliments on this which really blew my mind. lol. I think these retain for like $4.99 but I'm not sure where to buy them. I'd never heard of the brand before I got it in my bag.

Pink and green stamping using my Moyou London Sailor 07 plate. I'm really loving all these plates. Can't wait to order more. They stamp so easily.

I've done this one before and I love it. These colors are so pretty together. I used China Glaze Lemon Fizz and Shocking Pink. Shocking Pink is my favorite summer color. So bright and pretty.

Sinful Colors has their St. Patty's Day display out and it has all kinds of nice greens. I bought 4 different ones and because Green Ocean has been so hard to get a hold of I got 3 of those. I bought all the ones my store had. : )

This is Pistache. I really like this green. Its very pretty on its own but I think it will also be really nice for stamping.

I also decided to try Pistache with Green Ocean. I didn't love this pairing but it's ok. I probably won't do it again. I've seen Green Ocean over black and it looks great so I might try doing some darker colors next. For somethign I'd wanted really bad I was a little disappointed in Green Ocean but I think it was just this pairing. If I try it over a different color that it matches better hopefully that will make me happier with it.

I finally got new nail polish storage. This is a Melmer that I picked up from A.C Moore. Chances are if you go into the store and ask for a Melmer the employees are going to look at your like you have 5 heads. This is from their storage stuff and even when I explained to the lady what I was looking for she said they didn't have them. I ended up finding this about a month later while my son and I were walking around waiting on my hubby. These are made top stack and be set up as desks and things. They retail for like $34.99 but you can almost always find craft store coupons for 50% off. I paid $18 for mine. I actually have a second one waiting to be put together since my top drawer is 100% full and I can't fit even 1 more bottle in it. My guess is that these would hold about 300-350 bottles each.

This is my final photo and then I'm all caught up!! I have 1 more saved but I have more things I'm going to do with that polish before I post it so that one will probably be up next week or the week after. This is one of the Valentine's Day nails I did and I love them. I was so proud of these. I stamped the hearts using Bundle Monsters Holiday plates and the pointer and pinky are just silver with a black/pink glitter over top.

If you haven't seen the Bundle Monster plates you should really look in to them. They're great and they have everything. Even little holidays like Chinese New Year and Cinco De Mayo. I think the set comes with 24 or 25 plates and it's like $19 on Amazon.

All caught up!! I will be posting swatches this weekend of all of the China Glaze Sea Goddess collection polishes. I've done 3 of 6 swatches so far so I'll have that up soon. I also have a post coming soon for my first ever Holo polish!!

Last Christmas Nails

This post is going to be all of the Christmas nails I haven't posted yet. After this one I'll be up to stuff that I've done within the last few weeks. No more Christmas stuff after this one. (!!!!!)

This is OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston. Its an Orangeish red jelly. So even after 2 or 3 coats its still kind of see through.

I decided to use that color as a base for some Tape Christmas trees. This is not my design but it was all over instagram this year. I loved it. Its really easy too. I didn't have a super fine nail art brush yet so instead of trying to hand paint stars I used some scrapbooking glitter to add the stars on top of the trees.

I love this one. I just wish my stamping has turned out a bit better. For the accent nail I painted it blue and then stamped with the same silver from the base of my other nails. I made the stamp a decal and ended up messing it up when I put it on my nail and because I was out of pure acetone I decided to just leave it. I didn't want to fight with the polish. In the photo you can't really tell. The blue glitter is from Sinful Colors and I love it. It is so pretty.

These aren't really Christmas nails. But I wore them for my husband's work Christmas party. I wore a black dress with all sapphire jewelry so I wanted to try to match my nails. The blue is Frostbite from China Glaze and it matches my Sapphire wedding ring perfectly. I was really proud of how well my nails matched up with my outfit.
