Lynnderellas

This week has been a mess. I ended up not posting...AGAIN yesterday. But again, I have a good excuse. Last week I had to have a couple teeth extracted and then after a couple days I noticed my pain wasn't from the extraction so I called the dentist and it turned out I had bone spurs coming through. It was so painful and the dentist ended up having to cut them out. It was worse than having the teeth removed. It sucked. So yesterday I was totally out. My hubby is still out of town so I was extremely stressed and in pain trying to wrangle a 2.5 year old and our 3 crazy fur babies. Yesterday was not a good day.

I'm getting pretty close to being caught back up. Only a few more posts and I'll be doing recent stuff.

This post is going to be for my Lynnderellas. These are older ones. Probably still for sale though because I got them pretty cheap (at least for Lynndellas) in blog sales.

Matter of the Heart is, I think, the first ever Indie I got. Its a light pink base with lots of chunky glitters. There are several colors including pink. red, and purple. There are also some holo hearts in there. Its a very pretty polish. I don't think I used any undies when I did this swatch but I should have. I've only done 1 mani and I think I ended up doing 3 or 4 coats. So next time I will put this over a pale pink.

My other Lynnderella is Angel Food and I love this polish. It is so pretty. Its a purple-y pink base with lots of small white glitters along with some extra tiny purple and holo glitters. Its a very nice sping color.

I also did some fun Lip stamping using my Bundle Monster holiday plates. I loved this polish. Its is so pretty and so perfect for Valentine's Day and for spring. I know I will be using this one for Easter stuff.

Dollish Polish

A few weeks ago (months?) when Dollish Polish restocked Expecto Patronum I HAD to order it. Like I physically needed this polish. I might have died if I hadn't ordered it. Probably. I ended up placing 2 orders with Dollish Polish in less than a week. And I've placed another order since then. I'm going to go ahead and combine all of my orders into this one post for now. Eventually I will either add an update with the 2 swatches that are missing from this post.

There is Expecto Patronum. If you didn't already know it, that's from Harry Potter. A Patronus Charm is used to fight Dementors and is a pretty big part of book 3. Expecto Patronum is a white base with teal glitters in different sizes. Its gorgeous. I love it.

My second order included It's So Fluffy I'm Gonna Die And I'll Tumble For Ya. Its So fluffy I'm Gonna Die is a super pretty pale pink with different shades of pink glitters.

I have been wanting this polish for ever. I was so angry the day my order came in for this polish. I looked at the bottles and then put away I'll Tumble For Ya and left this one on my desk because I was getting ready to swatch it. I had to go make dinner and when I came back it was gone. My husband tore the house apart looking for it. After tears and yelling. and a few time out trips for our 2 year old we still couldn't find it so I had to order another bottle. Still get mad when I think about that. Ugh. Somewhere hidden in our house is a second bottle of this polish.

There is It's So Fluffy I'm Gonna Die with or super fluffy puppy. Shes new. We got her New Years Eve and shes huge. In less than 1.5 months shes gone from about 11 or 12 pounds to almost 30. I was actually going to swatch this polish on her nails but I didn't think she would co operate and even if she did I couldn't have gotten a good photo so I saved my polish.

I also added some Valentine's Day stamping. I just used a darker pink to stamp some hearts using Bundle Monsters Holiday plates.

I'll Tumble For Ya. I love this polish. It's like a party on my nails. I love the colors and the shapes. It's perfect. White base with pink, blue, green, and black glitters in different shapes including squares and stars just to name a couple.

My most recent order was for the last 3 still in stock polishes from the Mario polishes. I'm hoping to eventually find the rest of this collection in a blog sale somewhere. I got Wicked Wario, The Koopa King, and 1-Up.

The only one of these that I have swatched so far is 1-Up. I put it over Pure Ice Kiss Me Here. And then did a little mushroom as an accent. The mushroom is not me design. I fount it on pinterest but I have no idea who to credit it to. Its very cute though and really easy to do.

I love all my Dollish Polishes and I will have more soon. : )

Pop Culture Cosmetics Polishes

On black Friday I ordered some of Pop Culture Cosmetics polishes. I ordered most of them in minis though because I wanted to be able to try out lots of different polishes. I LOVE them. I've already ordered all but 2 in full sized bottles. And I plan to order the other 2 in full sized bottles soon.

3 Wishes is from the "Once" collection based on the show Once Upon a Time. If you don't watch it, you should. It's a fantastic show. They really put a different spin on all the old Disney Characters we've grown up with. I love it. 3 Wishes is a yellow-y colored base with gold glitters in different sizes. Out of all the polished I ordered this was my least favorite. I thought the base was going to be a little closer to white than to yellow. I still like this polish and I am going to order this one in a full sized bottle, it just wasn't quite what I was expecting.

On Safari is a white base with Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Black glitters along with Mickey glitters!! I LOVE this polish. LOVE IT. I'm not sure what collection this was from but I believe all the polishes in it were based off of some of the Disney Resorts. This is now discontinued but I'm so glad I got this polish before she took it off the site.

The rest of the polishes I ordered were all Christmas/winter polishes but I have a feeling I'll probably wear some of them even when its not that time of year.

This one is Frosty over 1 coat of white. It literally looks like Frosty the Snowman in a bottle. This could not possibly look more like a snowman. My son even calls this polish "snowman" and he really has no idea who Frosty is. Hes 2 and we live in Florida. We don't build many Frostys down here. Frosty is a shimmery white base with black and white glitters, orange shreds, and snowflakes. Seriously could not be more in love with this polish.

I added a bit of nail art to it. I hand painted Frosty using a photo I found through Google. I am so proud of him. This was only my 2nd or 3rd time trying character nail art and I think he turned out really well. Especially since I am not at all artistically talented.

This polish is Peppermint Mick over 1 coat of white. Another polish I absolutely adore. It is a white base with red and white glitters. this one also has silver Mickeys. This polish is so Christmassy. I love it.

I also did some nail art over this one. I added a Christmas Mickey. He could have turned out better but I'm pretty proud of him.

Snow Queen is a blue base with micro blue glitters and small white glitters. It also has large snowflakes. Another very nice wintery nail polish. This is 2 coats over white.

This polish is Silent Night. The photo does not do this polish justice at all. This polish
is SO pretty. The base is a blue jelly and it is gorgeous. I would love to have a bottle of just the base without glitter. Its the perfect blue. This polish is packed with all kinds of glitters. There are holo squares, hexes, stars, and moons along with tiny white hexes and snowflakes. Very very pretty polish. When I did the swatch of this polish I only had a mini and I was terrified of using it all up so I only put 1 or 2 coats over a white base. It was a bit streaky but if I had put 1 more coat I think that would have evened out and looked much better. I just love how pretty this polish is.

I think all but Snow Queen and 3 Wishes are now discontinued but maybe they will be re-released next year.

Sinful Colors Envy

It's been a couple days....again. I have a good reason this time though. : ) Friday was mine and my hubby's 5th anniversary and then yesterday we were really busy getting things ready for him to go out of town this week. He left this morning to do a class for a new certification for his job. Hes only been gone since about 6 this morning and I already miss him. It's going to be a long week. Thankfully Aidan hasn't started asking yet where daddy is.

Anyway, for some reason I wanted to try a few things out with this Envy color. I don't have very many green polishes (by not many I mean I only have like 15) so when I do find a green I don't have I try to make sure I pick it up. And I've learned even if I don't love it in the bottle (if it isn't oo expensive) I should go ahead and pick it up anyway.

Envy is a dark green. Its a nice color. Went on easy and wasn't streaky. It has no shimmer or Glitter. Just a nice dark green.

That's not exactly true to life. At least on my screen it looks kind of blueish but its actually just green. No blueish tint to it.

Because sometimes plain nails bore me I decided to try some blue tips. I removed it pretty quickly. My lines are crap and the colors are just not the best together.

And finally (on my rarely posted right hand) I tried the dry brushing grunge technique that Chalkboard Nails did. You can click here to see hers and a tutorial. : )

Over all I like this color best for nail art. Its ok by its self but I think it looks better paired with other colors. I hated the blue tips but I did actually like my "grunge" nails. That was my first time trying dry brushing but I liked it pretty well. I might end up trying that out with some bright colors for summer.

Egyptian stamping

Since my last post was about my Moyou London plates I decided to do this one on my favorite stamping mani so far using those plates. Since I LOVE all things Egyptian, I suppose it isn't surprising that my favorite so far was done using my Egyptian plate- Explorer 04.

I love them. Seriously, this plate has so many neat little designs to use. Lots of the hieroglyphs are on there and then the King Tut face. It also has 2 different pyramid patterns and palm trees and a few other designs. I love it. I think they had one other plate with Egyptian stuff on it so I might eventually have to order that one too.

Moyou London Plates

I love stamping but I'm still pretty new at it. My first stamping set was the Salon Express set they sold on TV AGES ago. I picked it up at Sally's about  a year or so ago. The plates that come with it have a couple cute designs but mostly they're junk. The full nail images might fit the nails for a 5 year old. Maybe. The stamper is decent and actually works pretty well to make decals with or to stamp small designs but for just stamping full nail designs with, it wasn't very good. Its very hard. I ordered some squishy stampers from a lady in one of my stamping groups on Facebook and they are great. Super easy to use for full nail stamping.

I also ordered a big set of Bundle Monster stamping plates. They're pretty good too but the set I ordered is all holiday stuff.

I kept hearing about Moyou London plates. And I finally looked them up and I LOVE their plates. They have some really neat ones.

These are the ones I ordered.

This is my Explorer 04 plate. I love this one so much. I've always been fascinated by Egyptian stuff so this was a must have plate for me.

Fairytale 06 plate is a Mermaid. I love the fairytale plates and I will probably eventually get the rest of them.

Sailor 07 plate. I love the sailor plates too. I live by the beach so I have to do beachy nails. : )

The last plate I got is the Sailor 08 plate. I love all the little fishes and stuff on this one!

Click here to go to the Moyou London website. They do ship from the UK but their shipping prices aren't too bad to the US and they also have pretty quick shipping. I got all 4 of my plates for like $35 with a coupon code.

Finding Bigfoot

My whole family loves the show Finding Bigfoot because its hilarious, not because any of us actually believe in bigfoot. So I just took a few different things from the show and put them on my nails.

The "I believe" is the thing they put on a bunch of their clothes and things they sell so I had to put that in there.

The middle finger is supposed to be bigfoot eyes. They look more like cat eyes but I have no idea what a bigfoot eye s supposed to look like since I've never seen one. My mom informed me that according to the show they are supposed to glow blue but I must have missed that episode. So mine are yellow.

The ring finger is the bigfoot silhouette. I'm pretty happy with the background for this one but I'm not real big on my bigfoot shape here... should have done wider shoulders and longer thicker  arms.

The last nail is bacon. Because that is the best part in the entire series. Bobo standing in the middle of a clearing frying bacon and talking about how "squatches" love bacon and you have to let them see you fry it so they know you aren't trying to poison them. I'm pretty sure Bobo is the one who loves bacon.

The first time I ever watched that episode my son was about 3 months old and I was trying to put him down for the night. I started laughing so hard I woke him up. Aidan was not amused. At all.

Also, I know I posted a few days ago about how I would be posting a lot to get caught up and then I didn't post at all the last two days. I had 2 teeth pulled on Tuesday and spent all of Tuesday and most of Wednesday in bed sleeping on and off. So today I will probably do a couple extra posts to make up a bit. : )

December Nailart Contest

So @Cdbnails143 did a November and December nail art contest on instagram. I entered both. I didn't win but I do think my stuff is getting better so maybe by next year I will be doing well enough to get into finals at least. : )

The first prompt was Favorite Christmas Carol or Song:

I chose FM Static Snow Miser which is a Christian rock band that redid the song from one of the old Christmas cartoons that they still play every year. Click here to see the video. The video is from the cartoon and then the music picks up from FM Static.

I loved the icicles on these but the other two nails I kind of wish I had just done more icicles. I used China Glaze Frostbite for the base and then a coat of Fairy Dust. Then I did one coat of White on White to do the icicles and other white stuff. To finish up I put some of China Glaze There's Snow Body Like You for some texture. ( I still love that polish. I know so many people hated it but I thought it was great.)

The second prompt was Favorite Christmas Movie:

I really like all the old Christmas cartoons. I remember watching them every year when I was little with my parents. Since I'd just done a swatch of Pop Culture Cosmetics Frosty, I decided to add a Frosty the Snowman and use that. I am still so proud of this mani. My frosty turned out so well.

The third prompt was Ugly Sweater: ( they didn't have to be ugly though)

I was pretty happy with these too. I did Silver with some red and green Sinful Colors glitter and then just did some white patterns on the "sweater" part.

The last prompt was just anything Christmas or Winter:

I'd just done a swatch of Pop Culture Cosmetics Silent Night so I decided to use that as my base (It's gorgeous) and I added some snowflakes.

Jumping back in

It has been over 2 months since I have posted. I'm not sure what happened but with Christmas and new years and everything going on, this just fell off to the side I guess. Since I didn't post anything at all through the entire month of December, my first few posts will be Christmas nails.

I love silver and gold for Christmas so I wanted to layer the two. China Glaze has a perfect gold crackle polish. I also wanted to play around with my stamping stuff a little bit so I used my Bundle Monster H03 plate. If I were to use this stamp again, I'd paint it.

The stamping set I had when I did this was the Salon Express kit that used to be sold on TV. I picked it up at Sally's for like $10 about a year ago. The stamper that comes with it is really hard to do full nail images on. So to do this I made a decal and put it on my nail. I now have a couple squishy stampers and they are MUCH easier to do full nail stamping with.

Wow... It's been a while...

So..... It has been several months since I've posted. I have a HUGE amount of stuff that needs to be posted so over the next few weeks I will probably be doing a post or 2 per day. I will get things going on here again.

Fall Leaf Nails

I got my Bundle Monster holiday stamping plates in the mail last week and I love them. They have everything. They have te big holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and Thanksgiving but they also have smaller holidays like Chinese New Year and Cinco De mayo. Everything I've tried stamps great.

While I was working on my decal for my fall nails I decided to play around with my snowflake.

The plate comes with a couple different snowflakes plus a full nail snowflake design. Since I was already using the big end of my stamper I just picked my favorite snowflake and stamped it all over. I love this. Can't wait until after Thanksgiving so I ant cut ally keep them on.

My decal turned out great. I love how nice this looks and it's pretty easy to do, jut a bit time consuming.

I've seen these a few diferetmbt places but since I showed one I will do a quick photo tutorial of the decal steps.

First pick your image and stamp it.

Use a fine nail art brush to fill in with color directly onto the stamper and let dry fully.

Cover entire design with a coat of fast dry topcoat and let dry fully.

Carefully peel off with tweezers, flip, and apply to nail. You want te park that faced down on te stamper to face up on the nail so your outlines show.

I'm really excited for all these holidays to come around so I can try out all my designs. I have some really nice ones for Saint Pattys Day.

I ordered my set from amazon for like $22 and I think free shipping. : )

Finger Paints/China Glaze/Spoiled

Finger Paints Sparkle in the Sky. I bought this one the last time I stopped into Sally's. I think it is supposed to be a texture but it isn't marked as a texture so I'm not sure. It does look/feel like one though. The photo shows it with topcot and you can still see it's pretty bumpy.

The photo doesn't show the color very well though. It's a darker blue base with micro glitters that flash purple and greenish.

Spoiled Did I Dye It Too Blonde? Top two fingers show two coats over two cots of white. Bottom two fingers show three coats with no undies. In person it is more of a hi lighter yellow, especially in the bottle. I like this one a lot more than I thought I would. Especially with the white underneath.

China Glaze It's a Trap-Eze! I love this polish so much. Before when I've used this one I've done it without undies. This time I put one coat of white underneath and I like it even more. Putting the coat of white underneath makes it easier I put on because you can focus more on getting the glitter to spread then worrying about bald patches in the base.

There is a close up. Seriously can not express how much I love this polish. I need I pick up an extra bottle so I don't run out. So pretty.

China Glaze Kiwi Cool-Ada. I ordered this one last week from Anazon. It is a bright neon green. Photo shows two coats. This is not quite the green I was expecting when I ordered. The photo did not show the color very well but I do like it.

Essie Toppless & Barefoot. Nude polish. I never really though I would use this one for anything other than nail art but I actually really like this.

Sally Hansen Wine Not. I won this polish in a giveaway. I would not have purchased this one myself because this is not a brand I would have normally bought but I love it! I will be buying more from this one. I like these much better than other types of Sally Hansen that I've bought before. The only bad thing is the brush. I like that it is one of the wide flat brushes and I can do most of my nails with two strokes but the bristles are uneven so I had I be really careful about how I had my brush sitting when I put it to my nails. But the polish itself was great.

China Glaze Strawberry Fields. I love this polish. It is so pretty. It's a really nice pink. And on top of the great color there is micro fine gold glitter that gives it a great shimmer. I love it.

I've been doing a bunch of posts for Instagram and I'm kind of playing catch up here. I still have a bunch of other posts to put up here but I don't want to post them all at once. If you want to check out my stuf on Instagram  You can find it at @hannahsnails11
